Those that follow Tiebreak over on Twitter will have seen sneak peeks of some new features I’ve been working on over the past few years. Finally things are coming together and getting closer to seeing the light of day!

As many of you will know, Tiebreak has always been a passion project for me. It’s something I’ve always strived to work on and improve around my full time job. Many years ago now I embarked on the daunting project of rebuilding Tiebreak’s code from the ground up – heck, I first posted about this way back in 2018. Even since then, things have evolved over time as I developed new features or worked in new designs.

Anyway, enough of the boring stuff, let’s get into some juicy details.

New Event Customisation Features

First up, a bunch of new game systems are getting fully supported from the get go. Obviously, with the custom option you can run events for pretty much any game system, but having official event packs and pre-sets just makes life a whole lot easier. Without getting too much into the nitty gritty, the way these work internally now makes it WAY easier for me to add more in future – so this is just the start!

Next, there’s a much larger array of customisation options, from pairing methods to round length to byes, a whole lot more can be customised now.

Continuing with the customisation, you can now create custom fields for attendees. Need to collect any extra information like T-Shirt sizes or dietary requirements etc? Now you can.

Plus a whole load more when you get into customising your scenarios, factions and scoring criteria too. The world is your oyster!

There really is too many things to mention in one post, so I’ll leave it there for now. Next time I’ll run through some things to make our lives as TO’s easier.

I’m going to be setting up a private BETA sometime very soon. If you’d like to get involved, make sure you’re following on Facebook and Twitter to see the announcement.
